The Midi Skirt

Yes, it's been a hot minute and to be completely honest with you I did think my blogging days were long over. BUT, I switched up my insta theme a lil and actually decided to start taking more outdoor outfit shots, which means I can actually have a decent looking blog (kind of)!

I will do a lil life update in a different post but today's post is all about Midi Skirts. A skirt I would never in a million years thought I'd have the confidence to wear. BUT this blog is all about stepping out of your comfort zone and not caring in the s l i g h t e s t what others think of you.

So, believe it or not, I actually used to really dread summer as I prefer winter clothing to summer clothing, am I mad? Probably. I've always preferred a good boot, high waist jeans, and a huge coat. In the summertime, I've always felt a little insecure. Like when is it the right time to get your legs out? What can you wear to work to be cool but not too revealing? What sandals can I buy that actually L A S T the summer?

I don't even know what my typical summer outfit used to be. I loved a high waist mom short with a lil off shoulder body and some sandals. Now my wardrobe has completely had a refresh and I'm obsessed with midi skirts and different prints. YES ME actually wearing colour, I never saw it happening ever.

Now that I work in fashion I am more in tune of what is trending and what everyone loves and I kept seeing midi skirts E V E R Y W H E R E. So I just decided to try one and ever since I've been in love. They are the perf casual and dressy outfit in one and go with any lil plain top or body, trainers, heels or sandals.

The only issue I've found with midi skirts is finding one that fits your butt and your waist. So in all of mine, I actually size down as if I get an 8 it gapes w a y too much. This one is a size 6. What I love about Topshop ones is the fact the slit isn't revealing anything like some of my other midi skirts do. I don't understand the whole high split thing?!? This one also had a zip on the back and it's just really flattering. obviously, with it being Topshop the price was fairly expensive but I never have anything bad to say about the company or their clothes so I'm always happy to pay that price.

Midi skirts are also not going to go out of fashion anytime soon. They are that versatile piece you can bring out every summer and I am LIVING for it.

I will be posting a series of midi skirt posts as I have gained a collection in the last few months. It's definitely fab to be back blogging so let me know what you would like to see on here next X
